here it is...

it has been so hard for me to decide whether or not to have a blog again. the memories of xanga are hanging over my head as I am typing this. however, i am going to succeed them. i am allowing myself to start another blog. this is not going to be the place where i express my feelings & special memories and what not.. instead let me explain what i shall do.

so here is the deal. I love music. it moves me. i listen to it everyday. but there is always one song, one artist, one playlist-- some soothing voice, lovely harmony with strum of guitar, shake of a tambourine, clap of a hand, or a beat that makes one start to dance. one of those simple things that cause my heart to skip a beat. i truly believe its a way that jesus waves at me & says hello. i truly believe music is a gift. whenever i hear a pretty song, with lyrics that bring a smile to my face i will thank my God for giving me ears to hear such goodness.

and here is what i am going to do.
each day, each week i am going to share what song..what musician...what music graced my ears causing my heart to warm and my face to smile.

so you are probably wondering what will be first and here it is..

how he loves. such a moving song that you may have heard before. it is one of my personal favorites. you can think about the lyrics and how they are packed full of joy. it just makes me smile so much with the simplicity. sometimes all we need to know is that jesus loves us! another reason why i love this song so much is because of the way that so many artist have made it their own.

for example...

John Mark Mcmillan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0luHiWwi08
john mark is the original writer of this song.  he sings it with such meaning and emotion that you can hear in his voice. it is such an awesome sound with the country element that is added with the electric guitar during the instrumentals. i absolutely love and and will listen to his version of the song with a different view because of the reason and the story behind why he wrote it. thanks so much to him for writing a song that speaks to so many souls and most importantly brings glory and praise to jesus. so beautiful.

David Crowder Band

those of you who know me well know that me loving david crowder is an understatement. but i really do. i will talk about him as a musician and jesus-lover another time but for now it is his version of this song. i will admit, his version of this song was the first one that i heard. i fell in love with it. he has a way with arranging songs that allows every lyric to be heard and understood. i love the way he changed the lyrics from "sloppy wet kiss" to "unforeseen kiss". do not get me wrong, i love it both ways but i feel like he put his eloquent twist on the song. and the way the songs builds up to where he raises his voice.."he loves us!" brings such joy to my heart.

Kim Walker / Jesus Culture

Kim Walker has recently become one of my favorite female worship leaders. She brings a strong passion to every song that she sings...and every lyric that leaves her mouth. The way she sings this song brings chills to my spine. She has an anointing in the way she worships for sure..and I love it. When she starts talking it is a little odd...but listen to what she is saying..hear her voice! It is full of the holy spirit which is beautiful and eloquent. Her strong voice, joy, and passion can bring a room to an experience with the Lord.

please listen...sing along...and see if you agree. you really dont have to. please do share your thoughts as well!

love to you,
sarah ann. :)
